Technical Job Fair held in the city

B Mirror Report: The BDjobs.com organized a “Technical Job Fair” at the Krishibid Institution Auditorium in the capital on Tuesday.
Dr. Abdul Karim, Executive Director of the premier technical education institution, UCEP Bangladesh, inaugurated the fair as the chief guest.
“80% of students in Bangladesh take non-technical, while 20% go for technical education. Such a scenario needs to change for the overall development of the country,” Dr. Karim said in his speech.
Fahim Mashrur, Founder and CEO of BDJobs, said that if students are trained in technical education, they will be able to do much better work and earn much more not only in the country but also abroad.
The “Technical Job Fair” was inaugurated at 9 am on Tuesday and continued till 4:30 pm. The fair premises saw more than 10,000 job seekers who were trained in various trades, including electricians, mechanics, machine operators, technicians, welders, plumbers, designers, cleaners, and beauticians.
Total 100 top local and foreign companies and technical educational institutions participated in this fair to recruit 3,000 skilled manpower. The stalls of Walton, Square, Akij, Pran, Apex, Acme, Ifad Group were the most crowded. Some 25,000 job seekers registered online to participate in this fair. They applied for various positions through QR code scanning.
Two seminars titled ‘CV Writing and Interview Techniques’ and ‘Job Placement in Japan’ were also held during the fair. Experts conducted the two seminars attended by a huge number of job seekers. Free online skill development training, a joint initiative of UNICEF and BDJobs, was also discussed with the job seekers.
