B Mirror Report: The country’s Finance and Planning Minister, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, has emphasized the need to revive the fragile national economy and boost investment. He stated that taxes must be increased to keep the economy running and ensure investment. Without investment, there will be no employment, he said, adding that the government is giving importance to both domestic and foreign investment. Education, healthcare, and employment will be priorities in the upcoming budget.

He made these remarks to journalists on Friday (February 27) in the afternoon after visiting the site of a proposed government hospital in Patenga, Chattogram.

The Finance and Planning Minister visited the designated land in the Jele Para area under Patenga Police Station in Chattogram for the construction of the proposed government hospital.

At 3:00 pm, the minister arrived at the Muslimabad area adjacent to Marine Drive, located on the western side of Banoja Ulka Abad Area-2, to inspect land acquired by the Bangladesh Navy. Later, he physically inspected a total of 14.2190 acres and an additional 2.7 acres of land acquired by the Navy for the construction of the government hospital in Patenga.

During the visit, Commander of the Chattogram Naval Area, Rear Admiral Md. Moinul Hasan, briefed the minister in detail about the land’s location, geographical environment, communication system, surrounding infrastructural facilities, and future development prospects.
