Sylhet district administration issues ultimatum to return looted stones

B Mirror Desk : The district administration has given a three-day ultimatum to recover the stones looted from the tourist center of Bholaganj in Sylhet’s Companyganj Upazila. At the same time, miking is being done in Companyganj and surrounding areas to return the stones.

They have been instructed to deliver the looted white stones to the tourist center of Sapadhar on their own initiative and at their own expense by 5 pm next Tuesday (August 26).

Confirming this information, Sylhet Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Padmasan Singh told the media, “The stones will have to be returned to Bholaganj Ghat No. 10 dumping station on their own initiative by 5 pm on Tuesday. If they are not sent, legal action will be taken against the accused.”

He further said, “Even after the stipulated time, action will be taken against the public representatives of the area where stones are found during the raid. In this process, the work of bringing the main perpetrators of stone looting under the law will also continue.”
