The primary capital market of the country, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), is experiencing an uptick in the price index on Sunday (August 17), marking the first working day of the week. The share prices of the majority of companies have risen.
This information has been disclosed by sources at the DSE.
As per the sources, during the initial one and a half hours of trading at the DSE, specifically until 11:30 am, the DSE’s main index, known as ‘DSEX’, increased by 36.43 points, reaching 5,386 points.
The Shariah index, referred to as ‘DSES’, saw a rise of 7.97 points, bringing it to 1,171 points, while the ‘DS-30’ index climbed by 12.15 points to reach 2,085 points.
During this timeframe, shares and units worth a total of Tk 288.04 crore were traded on the DSE.
Among the companies that were traded, 258 saw an increase in their prices, 60 experienced a decrease, and 73 maintained their share prices unchanged.
