Stock Market Slump: Most Shares Plummet

B Mirror Desk : On the first working day of the week, all price indices of the country’s main stock market, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), ended trading with a fall. At the same time, the share prices of 243 companies participating in the transaction fell. The volume of transactions also decreased compared to the previous working day.

This information was revealed by Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) sources.

According to the source, on Sunday (April 20), the main index of DSE ‘DSEX’ fell by 22.95 points. Currently, the index is at 5,074 points.

In addition, another index of DSE ‘DSES’ fell by 8.30 points to 1,135 points and the ‘DS-30’ index fell by 2.88 points to 1,872 points.

Shares and units worth Tk 351 crore 8 lakh 41 thousand were traded on DSE today. The previous trading day saw a turnover of 339 crore 29 lakh 84 thousand taka.

Shares and units of a total of 396 companies changed hands on the DSE today. Among the companies participating in the transaction, the prices of 101 companies increased, while the prices of 243 companies decreased. In addition, the prices of shares and units of 52 companies remained unchanged.
