Standard Chartered announce corporate football tournament SC Cup 2024

Winning team will visit Liverpool Football Club’s home ground at Anfield, Liverpool, United Kingdom

Standard Chartered Bangladesh launched ‘SC Cup 2024’ – a unique five-a-side football tournament. This will be the seventh edition of the SC Cup tournament in Bangladesh. The tournament will take place in December and will give teams the chance to compete for the opportunity to visit the hallowed grounds of Anfield, home to the Liverpool Football Club, and watch Liverpool in action.

The participating teams this year are Abul Khair Group, British American Tobacco Bangladesh Coca-Cola Bangladesh Beverages Limited, DBL Ceramics Ltd, Eskayef Pharmaceuticals Limited, Fakir Fashion Ltd, IDLC, Incepta Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Pran Group, Robi Axiata, Unilever Bangladesh Limited and United Group.

Over the years, Standard Chartered Bangladesh has hosted a total of six football tournaments. Participating teams have embraced the love of the game, and in doing so, have challenged themselves, improved their football skills, and built new bonds with their colleagues and teammates. Previous winners of the SC Cup include Grameenphone, Banglatrac, Robi and Youth Group.

Standard Chartered began sponsoring Liverpool Football Club (LFC) in July of 2010. In the last 13 years, the partnership has gone from strength to strength – as a result of the many things Standard Chartered and LFC have in common. For example, the Bank and LFC are both firmly rooted in Asia, Africa, and the Middle East, and a huge majority of LFC’s 770 million followers are based in the very same markets which Standard Chartered calls home. The relationship between Liverpool Football Club and Standard Chartered is slated to continue for 17 seasons overall, until the end of 2026/27 football season.
