The average pass rate in this year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations has fallen to 62.25%, down from 68.45% last year, marking a decline of 6.20 percentage points.
A total of 116,676 students secured GPA-5 this year, compared with 139,032 last year. The number of GPA-5 achievers therefore fell by 22,356.
Education Minister Dr ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon officially inaugurated the publication of the results at the Education Ministry’s conference room at 10am on Monday. Chairmen of all education boards handed over the examination results to the minister.
A total of 1,857,344 students had registered for this year’s SSC and equivalent examinations. Of them, 1,418,398 appeared under the nine general education boards, 304,286 in the Dakhil examination under the Madrasah Education Board, and 134,660 in the SSC (Vocational) examination under the Technical Education Board.
Students can access their results online, through their educational institutions or via SMS. Results are available on the respective education board websites as well as eduboardresult.gov.bd and educationboardresults.gov.bd.
The SSC examinations began on April 21, with written examinations under the general education boards ending on May 20. Written examinations for Dakhil and SSC (Vocational) ended on May 24.
The results were published nearly three months after the examinations began. Although results are generally released within 60 days of the written examinations, this year’s results were published later than the expected July 20 date.
Students seeking re-scrutiny of their results can apply online from August 11 to August 17. Detailed instructions will be available on the respective education board websites.
Results of the SSC (Vocational) and Dakhil (Vocational) examinations have also been published simultaneously through the respective institutions and online platforms.
