Sri Lanka eager to collaborate in operational and capital market investment fields

Investors from Sri Lanka have shown interest in working in Bangladesh’s capital market’s operational and investment divisions. During a courtesy call with the chairman of the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission, a group of investors from Sri Lanka voiced their interest.

A group of Sri Lankan investors, including the chairman of the Colombo Stock Exchange, paid the chairman of the Commission, Khandaker Rashed Maksud, a courtesy call at the BSEC building in the capital’s Agargaon on Tuesday, March 11. Md. Abul Kalam, the director and spokesperson for the BSEC, signed a press release containing this information.

Dilshan Airasekara, chairman of the Colombo Stock Exchange, Tharusha Ekanayake, chief operating officer of Sri Lanka First Capital Holdings PLC, and Dimantha Mathew, chief research and strategy officer, were present at the courtesy call. On behalf of BSEC, Farzana Lalarukh and Khandaker Rashed Maqsood, the organization’s chairman, were in attendance.

The Sri Lankan investor group indicated at the conference that they would like to work in the operational sectors of the Bangladeshi capital market and invest in the country’s capital market. The two sides talked about a number of capital market topics and potential future developments during this period.
