An agreement has been signed between Sonali Bank PLC and the Election Commission for collection of National Identity Card (NID) correction, loss and renewal service fees. As a result of this agreement, Bangladeshi citizens will be able to pay their various NID service fees online using the Sonali Payment Gateway from the comfort of their homes.

Mahbub Alam Talukdar, Director General of National Identity Registration Division, was the chief guest at the signing ceremony at the conference hall of the election building on Sunday. Deputy Managing Director Subhash Chandra Das on behalf of Sonali Bank and Hasan Uzzaman, Director of National Identity Registration Division (Administration and Finance) on behalf of the Election Commission, signed the agreement on the occasion.

In the program among others, the project director of IDEA (2nd phase) of the Election Commission, Bri. General Abul Hasnat Mohammad Sayem, Sonali Bank General Manager Mohiuddin Bhuiyan and officials of both institutions were present.
