Six-day-long ‘Ganajagaran Dance Festival’ starts with anti-Palestinian war dance performances

The ‘Ganajagaran Dance Festival’ started on Sunday with an anti-war dance performance in the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy’s National Theater auditorium due to the tragic deaths and cruel torture of children in Palestine.

Nine dance troupes participated in the performance on the first day. The festival is being held with the participation of 75 dance groups, including 67 from the country. Four dance groups will join through a video call from the USA. Various groups performed on the opening day of this spectacular dance festival.

Director General of the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, Liaquat Ali Lucky, inaugurated the festival as president. In his speech, he said, –Artists have played an important role in everything from the anti-British movement to the liberation war. We want to reach every person through cultural practice.

He protested against the horrors of the war in Palestine and the killing of women and children in the context of the war that is happening in the world.

Salahuddin Ahmed, Secretary, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, delivered the welcome address in the inaugural session. He said, ‘This dance festival is organized with the aim of creating good thoughts and good feelings among people through cultural practice.’
