Noted writer Shahnaz Shithy’s travelogue on Lebanon launched in Ekushey Boi Mela 2025

Author, poet, translator and academic scholar Shahnaz Shithy’s travelogue titled “Lebanon: Shomriddho Itihash O Oitijjer Ek Boichitromoy Upakkhan” (Lebanon: A Diverse Tale of History and Culture) was launched at Ekushey Book Fair in Dhaka on Monday (17 February 2025).
This book is based on the author’s trips to Lebanon and her insightful musings and empirical views on the cultural legacy, historic background, literary affluence and current economic and socio-political situation of Lebanon. It has been published by Meghdoot Prokashon.
In her professional life, Shahnaz Shithy is Associate Professor at Department of English Language and Literature in Premier University, Chittagong. Shahnaz Shithy has so far penned a broad spectrum of articles and poems in various national daily newspapers. Moreover, a remarkable number of research papers by Shahnaz Shithy have been published in peer-reviewed English journals.
Shahnaz Shithy has also translated short stories of famed Brazilian novelist Paulo Coelho into Bengali. Shahnaz Shithy is married to Captain Zahid Hossain, Bangladesh Navy. The couple is blessed with two sons.
