Shahjalal Islami Bank awarded scholarship to meritorious students

Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC has provided scholarships to 300 poor and meritorious students who have passed HSC and equivalent examinations from different parts of the country. They are currently studying in the first year of their degree in various public universities, government medical colleges and engineering universities in the country. There are 150 male and 150 female students among the scholarship recipients. A total of 3,81,00,000.00 (three crore eighty one lac) taka will be provided to the scholarship recipients to complete their courses in four years. The scholarship cheques were officially distributed at a ceremony organized at the bank’s corporate head office on 19 November 2025. There are 50 (fifty) scholarship recipients received the scholarship cheque at the ceremony. The scholarship money of the remaining 250 scholarship recipients will be paid into their respective bank accounts within a stipulated time. The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bank Mr. A. K. Azad handed over the scholarship cheques among the students as Chief Guest in the program. The Director of the Bank & Chairman of the Bank Foundation Mr. Md. Sanaullah Shahid was present as Special Guest in the program. The Managing Director of Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC, Mr. Mosleh Uddin Ahmed presided over in the program. The SEVP & Company Secretary of the Bank Mr. Md. Abul Bashar moderated in the program.

The Vice-Chairman of the Board Mr. Mohiuddin Ahmed, the Directors Mr. Md. Abdul Barek, Mr. Khandaker Shakib Ahmed, Engineer Md. Towhidur Rahman, Mr. Md. Moshiur Rahman Chamak, Mrs. Tahera Faruque, Mr. Fakir Mashrikuzzaman, Mr. Fakir Maniruzzaman, Mr. Abdul Hakim, the Independent Directors Mr. Nasir Uddin Ahmed & Mr. Md. Reazul Karim were present were present in the program as special invited guest. Among others the Additional Managing Director of the Bank Mr. Imtiaz U. Ahmed, the Deputy Managing Director Mr. M. M. Saiful Islam, the Head of Internal Control & Compliance Division Mr. Mohammed Ashfaqul Hoque, FCA, FCS, the CFO of the Bank Mr. Md. Jafar Sadeq, FCA, the Head of Investment Risk Management Division Mr. Md. Amzad Hossain, the Head of Head of Special Asset Management Department Mr. Tariqul Islam, the In-Charge of Public Relations Department & Bank Foundation Mr. K. M. Harunur Rashid and the scholarship students were also present in the program.

In the speech of Chief Guest Mr. A. K. Azad said that since 2006, Shahjalal Islami Bank has been providing scholarships to poor and talented students from different parts of the country. The Chairman of the Bank also urged people from all walks of life to come forward to ensure fair and quality education for everyone in the society.

The Managing Director of the Bank Mr. Mosleh Uddin Ahmed said that this scholarship provided by Shahjalal Islami Bank is not only financial support to the talented students but also motivation, courage and encouragement. The recognition given by the bank to the meritorious students is in recognition of the hard work that the students from the disadvantaged groups of the society have achieved in the past years. Moreover, he called upon the talented students to acquire quality education and develop as true human beings. Education is the only medium that can radically change a nation. We hope that you will one day take this country forward by becoming educated and gaining knowledge through real education.
