Shahidul, Kamrul Elected Natore Press Club Leaders

Natore Correspondent: In the Natore Press Club election, Md. Shahidul Haque Sarkar of Daily Jugantor has been elected president, while Kamrul Islam of Bangla Vision has been elected general secretary.

In the decisive result, Shahidul Haque Sarkar received 33 votes, defeating Bappi Lahiri of Independent Television, who received 13 votes. For the post of general secretary, Kamrul Islam secured 29 votes, while Nazmul Hasan of Jamuna Television received 17 votes.

The results were announced at 2 p.m. on Saturday by Chief Election Commissioner Md. Al Asad Bin Saeed, Principal of Dattapara Model Degree College, following the vote count for the club’s biennial executive committee election held at the Natore Press Club. Election Commissioners Md. Amzad Hossain and M. A. Selim were also present during the announcement.

Other elected office bearers include: Senior Vice President Enamul Rahman Chinu (Khoborpatra), Junior Vice President Md. Ishaq Ali (Baishakhi Television), Joint General Secretary Mostafizur Rahman Tutul (SA TV), Treasurer Ashraful Alam (New Age), Literature and Library Secretary M. M. Ariful Islam (Naya Shatabdi), Sports and Cultural Secretary Ashraful Islam Bachchu (Daily Dhaka), and Office Secretary Manjur-E-Mowla Sabbir (Bangladesh Express).

The executive members elected are Md. Azizul Haque Tuku (Inqilab), Abdus Salam (Amar Desh), Abdul Majid (Business Mirror), and Shahedul Alam Rokon (Deepto TV).

All 46 members of the Natore Press Club exercised their voting rights in the election.
