A seminar titled  ‘Awarenesses about Risk Management in Banks’ was held on 08 February,  2025 at Agrani Bank Training Institute, Dhaka.

Hon’ble Chairman of Agrani Bank plc Syed Abu Naser Bukhtear Ahmed has graced the event as Chief Guest. Under the chairmanship of CEO of Agrani Bank plc Mr. Anwarul Islam, one of the Board members  Mr. Mujaffor Ahmed, Director of Agrani Bank plc has delivered key note presentation. All members of the Agrani Bank board and all DMDs and GMs were presented in the seminar.

Highlighting the profound importance of Risk Management in Banking sector day to day functions, key note speaker pointed out the existing practices of the bank as a whole and the practices followed by Agrani Bank specifically.

Some of the important issues like: Economic Capital and its measurement, Balance sheet management,  capital adequacy as per Bangladesh Bank guidelines, External Credit Assessment, Capital Buffers, Role of different tiers of the management officials in Risk Management were presented extensively with life time examples.

An intensive Question and Answer sessions were taken place where Hon’ble Chairman and the learned presenter gave feedback very prudently.

Finally a few points  were identified unanimously those are highly important to counter the associated challenges in present banking sector are facing.

Recommendations has already been made for the Agrani Bank to move forward to articulate a sustainable  banking sector as well ss to harness the future modern banking potentials.

The seminar was ended with the vote of thanks by Hon’ble Chairman and CEO of Agrani Bank plc and has appreciated the Agrani Bank management team for arranging such an important seminar at a time when banking sector as a whole is passing challenging time.
