Saudi Crown Prince Salman coming to visit Bangladesh

Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister Muhammad bin Salman will visit Bangladesh this year, Saudi Ambassador Issa Bin Youssef Al-Dahilan said. He expressed hope that the Diplomatic and commercial relations between the two countries will reach a unique height through this visit.

He said this while inaugurating the food basket distribution program in Bangladesh at the Saudi Embassy in Baridhara on Thursday.

King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre will distribute 15,700 food baskets in Bangladesh this year. It will be distributed in different regions of the country through Bangladeshi private organization Sunbulah Welfare Association. Each box contains 24 kg of various food items including rice, dal, oil, sugar and salt.

It should be noted that Saudi Arabia’s aid organization KS Relief has been running humanitarian activities in 93 countries around the world since its launch in 2015. These are supported as part of development and humanitarian assistance to low and middle income countries, the country’s ambassador Issa Bin Youssef Al-Dahilan added.

According to the Ambassador, the KS Relief has spent more than six billion US dollars on more than 2500 projects in 93 countries. Currently, KS Relief has 52 projects in Bangladesh, with more than 21 million US dollars spent. More than 60 lakh people of the country have benefited through this programme. Moreover, Ambassador Issa Bin Youssef Al-Dahilan also said that 25 projects have been implemented in the Rohingya camp of Cox’s Bazar at a cost of 26 million US dollars.

Dr. Muhammad Shakir Hossain, Founder & Chairman of Sunbulah Welfare Association and journalists from print and electronic media were present in the event besides senior officials of the embassy and foreign ministry of Bangladesh.
