B Mirror Report: As part of the observance of Basic Education and Literacy Month, the Rotary Club of Dhaka Fort, the largest Rotary club in Bangladesh, undertook a humanitarian initiative to support the educational journey of underprivileged students in Betagi Upazila, Barguna.

On July 25 and 26, 2026, an educational supplies distribution program was held at Sabuj Kanan Secondary High School, where more than one hundred underprivileged students received essential learning materials.

The educational supplies were formally handed over on behalf of the Rotary Club of Dhaka Fort by the Club’s Past President and Chairman of the Educational Martials Distribution Project, Rotarian A.T.M. Neamul Bashir, MPHF. Addressing the students, he encouraged them to pursue their studies with dedication and perseverance so that they may grow into responsible and capable citizens.

During the same visit, Rotarian A.T.M. Neamul Bashir also organized, through his personal initiative, a Milad Mahfil and a football tournament in Betagi Upazila to commemorate the death anniversary of his late father, Ashraf Ali Sikder. Both events received an enthusiastic response from the local community.

Joining the event virtually from Dhaka were District Governor (2021–22) and Club Trainer Barrister Mutasim Billah Faruqi, PHS, MPHF, Immediate Past President PDFL Rokeya Faruqi, MD, Club President Tanmoy Majumdar, PHF, Club Secretary Masumul Alam, Club Treasurer Md. Nurul Kabir, and other club leaders. They delivered inspiring messages to the students and reaffirmed the club’s commitment to continuing its support for the education of underprivileged children.

In his address, District Governor Barrister Mutasim Billah Faruqi warmly congratulated and thanked his close friend, Rotarian A.T.M. Niamul Bashir, MPHF, for his outstanding leadership as Chairman of the Educational Supplies Distribution Project and for his significant financial contribution to its successful implementation. On behalf of the Rotary Club of Dhaka Fort, he expressed deep appreciation for Bashir’s dedication and stated that such initiatives further strengthen Rotary’s enduring commitment to humanitarian service and educational development.

The program was attended by Jahangir Alam Lablu, Head Teacher of Shabuj Kanan Secondary High School; Major (Retd.) Nazmul Ahsan Rintu, President of the School Governing Boby; Nizam Chowdhury, a UK-based Bangladeshi and former student of the University of Chittagong; members of the school’s teaching staff, local dignitaries, and other distinguished guests.
