B Mirror Report: The Real Estate and Housing Association of Bangladesh (REHAB) to develop 10,000 more skilled workers in the housing sector. The association leaders has signed an agreement with the Ministry of Finance’s Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Program (CSIP) .
The agreement was signed at Pravasi Kalyan Bhawan in the capital on Tuesday morning. The president of the organization signed the contract on behalf of rehab. Wahiduzzaman. Senior Vice President of Rehab Liaquat Ali Bhuiyan, Vice President-3 Abdul Latif, Vice President (Finance) Abdur Razzak and Chief Coordinator of SEIP-Rehab Project Kazi Abul Kashem were present at this time. President of the organization Wahiduzzaman spoke on behalf of rehab. He said that earlier Rehab has successfully trained about 21 thousand construction workers through various training institutes of the country. About 90 percent of them are working abroad with various developer companies and are making important contributions to the country’s economy.
CCIP Executive Project Director (Additional Secretary) Mohammad Walid Hossain said that Rehab has trained about 21 thousand trainees efficiently. Their standard of training is very satisfactory. The number of women students in this training was unprecedented. He expressed the hope that in the future Rehab will make a special contribution in providing higher training in the construction sector.
The training will be given to the trainees completely free of cost; Also every trainee will get scholarship. Electrical Installation and Maintenance, Plumbing and Pipe Fittings, Machinery and Steel Binding, Tiles and Marble Works — these four subjects will provide advanced training under the project. The duration of training will be four months. After the training, the trainees will have employment opportunities in the country and abroad.
