Refresher Training in Early Warning and Disaster Management Skills

Jahirul Patuakhali Correspondent:  A one-day refresher training session has been successfully conducted with members of the “District Resource Pool” in Patuakhali to bolster disaster preparedness in the coastal area.

Jagonari facilitated this training as part of an initiative by Save the Children, RIMS under the Child Centered Anticipatory Action Project, held at the Mallika Restaurant hall on Monday. Participants included government and non-government organizations, volunteers, journalists, and students from the district.

The training covered the significance of early warning systems, cyclone forecasting, impact-based forecasting, and the use of digital tools for messaging, along with strategies for disaster preparedness.

Key attendees included Additional Deputy Commissioner General Md. Muhsin Uddin, President of POBIPRB ESDM Professor Dr. Ahmed Parvez, Meteorologist Hafizur Rahman, Disaster Management Officer S.M. Delwar Hossain, Project Director of CCAA Project Moniruzzaman Prince, General Secretary of Patuakhali District Press Club Abdus Salam Arif, Officer of Save the Children Sanchita Halder, Senior Project Officer of RAIMS Muhammad Tanzilur Rahman, and other project officials who were present at the training.
