Gournadi Correspondent: The farewell reception ceremony for the new Executive Officer of Gournadi Upazila of Barisal, Rifat Ara Maury, and the outgoing Executive Officer of Gournadi Upazila, Municipal Administrator Md. Abu Abdullah Khan was held at the Gournadi Upazila Parishad auditorium yesterday, Sunday morning. Gournadi Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Rajib Hossain presided over the event, and former MP from Barisal-1 constituency and advisor to the BNP Chairperson M. Zahir Uddin Swapan spoke in attendance. Outgoing Executive Officer Abu Abdullah Khan and his wife Advocate Fatima Akhter spoke with their feelings. Among others, the newly appointed executive officer of Gournadi Upazila Rifat Ara Maury, OC of Gournadi Model Police Station Md. Yunus Mia, upazila BNP convener Syed Sarwar Alam Biplob, president of Gournadi Municipal Citizens Committee, former chairman of BRDB senior journalist Zahurul Islam Zahir, Ameer of Municipal Jamaat Md. Hafizur Rahman, upazila women’s affairs officer Jahanara Parvin, upazila cooperative officer Israt Ara Sakhi, women’s organization officer Md. Shahidul Islam, former chairman Md. Manjur Hossain Milon spoke. The program was attended by upazila BNP member secretary Zahir Sajjat Hannan, Gournadi Press Club convener Md. It is worth noting that through his honesty, skill and hard work, Md. Abu Abdullah Khan has earned a place in the hearts of people from all walks of life in just one year and eight months by working tirelessly for the development of the people of Gournadi day and night.
