For the first time in the history of the country, a franchise team went abroad and returned with a trophy. Rangpur Riders created a stir in the country’s cricket by winning the Global Super League. This time, the team will take that shiny trophy to their home town of Rangpur. There will be another trophy with it, the BPL trophy as part of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) trophy tour.
Rangpur Riders has organized various events for this trophy tour on December 20. The team’s cricketers will arrive in Rangpur by helicopter. There will be various activities related to the two trophies (GSL, BPL).
1500 jerseys will be given to fans all over Rangpur. BPL mascot ‘Dana 36’ will also be present at the event. Rangpur Riders will parade around the city with two trophies at 1 pm. Player meet and greet at Rangpur Cricket Garden at 2 pm.
Even ordinary cricket fans will have the opportunity to take pictures with the trophy. A concert is also being organized from 3 pm. The famous band ‘Avoid Rafa’ will be there.
Earlier, Rangpur won the Global Super League trophy in Guyana on December 6, 2024. The five-team tournament featured the best five teams from five different countries. Rangpur won the final by defeating Victoria by 56 runs under the leadership of Nurul Hasan Sohan.
