Prime Minister Highlights Modernized Curriculum to Unleash Students’ Talents

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina emphasized the modernization of the curriculum to nurture students’ hidden talents. Speaking at the inauguration of National Primary Education Week-2024 and the Primary Education Medal-2023 ceremony at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium on Thursday, she highlighted the importance of integrating modern technology and knowledge into education.

“We cannot rely solely on traditional book learning. We must create opportunities for children to discover and develop their hidden talents. This is why we have incorporated modern technology into the curriculum,” stated the Prime Minister.

The theme for this year’s education week is “Children-Friendly Primary Education, Lesson of Smart Bangladesh.” Prime Minister Hasina underlined the government’s commitment to developing a balanced, welfare-oriented, universal, and high-standard education system.

“We aim to establish computer labs in every school across the country. Initially, we set up labs in secondary schools, and now we plan to extend this initiative to primary schools,” she added.

Acknowledging the significance of technology in today’s world, Sheikh Hasina stressed the need to equip the population with modern technological skills. “We are taking comprehensive measures to ensure this,” she affirmed.

126 stakeholders in 18 categories were honored with the Primary Education Medal-2023 during the ceremony. Among them, 54 students, individuals, and institutions received their medals directly from the Prime Minister.

State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Rumana Ali also addressed the event presided over by Primary and Mass Education Secretary Farid Ahmed.
