Bhola Correspondent : The family held a press conference demanding the arrest and trial of the accused in the case of the murder of the Chhatra Dal leader Rashed in Monpura, Bhola.

The press conference was held in front of the house of the deceased Rashed in Dakshin Sakuchia Union of the upazila at 12:30 pm yesterday (May 5).

In a written statement, the deceased Rashed’s brother Azad Hossain alleged, so far, the police have not arrested Jamal Uddin Palash, the mastermind of the murder and other accused. They even suspect that Jamal Uddin Palash is planning to change the autopsy report in exchange for money.

He also alleged that since the murder case was filed, they have been harassing and threatening the family members and witnesses in various ways. He even made a complaint that the accused had filed three false cases against their family members and witnesses in order to divert the murder case.

At this time, the father of the deceased, Abul Kalam, mother Kohinur Begum, sister Yasmin Begum and brother Azad Hossain, who attended the press conference, demanded the cooperation of BNP acting chairperson Tarique Rahman to get a fair trial for the murder.

In this regard, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Monpura PS, Ahsan Kabir said that 7 accused have been arrested in this murder case after conducting raids in Monpura and Gulshan in Dhaka. The police operation to arrest the other accused is continuing.
