Imran Jhenaidah Correspondent: Students have launched a clean-up and polythene ban initiative in Jhenaidah to inspire the spirit of July.
The clean-up effort commenced on Devdaru Avenue in the city on Monday morning, with 35 students from different educational institutions taking part. They utilized brooms, shovels, and spades to clean various roads, seating areas, and establishments.
Ilma Khatun, a student who spearheaded the clean-up campaign, mentioned that the students, in collaboration with the District Council, are engaged in the ‘Swachh Shahar Sajag Itihas’ program. This initiative will run until July 30, focusing on cleaning several key roads, establishments, and locations throughout the city. Additionally, there will be a call for everyone to refrain from using polythene. The organizers emphasized that this effort aims to promote an environmentally friendly lifestyle.
Ilma stated, “It is our duty to safeguard the environment. We have initiated this campaign to inspire others as well. Everyone must step up to help create a clean city.” Through this initiative, we aim to convey the importance of not only cleaning the city but also fostering environmental awareness and civic responsibility.
