B Mirror Report: Prime Minister Tarek Rahman awarded the country’s second-highest civilian honor, the Ekushey Padak 2026, at a special ceremony held at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium on Thursday morning.
This year, the award recognized distinguished contributions in various fields, including film, fine arts, architecture, music, theatre, journalism, education, sculpture, and dance. Recipients include Farida Akter Bobita (film), Professor Abdus Sattar (fine arts), Merina Tabassum (architecture), posthumously Ayub Bachchu (music), Islam Uddin Palakar (theatre), Shafiq Rehman (journalism), Professor Mahbubul Alam Majumdar (education), Tejas Haldar Yash (sculpture), and Orthi Ahmed (dance). The music band Warfaze was also honored.
Immediately following the awards ceremony, the Prime Minister participated in the inauguration of the country’s largest cultural event, the Amar Ekushey Book Fair. Earlier, she chaired a Cabinet meeting at 10:30 a.m.
