PM directed to list govt companies soon

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has instructed government institutions to list in the capital market. He also ordered the finance department to work on this. He gave this order at the executive meeting of the National Economic Committee (ECNEC) at the Planning Commission in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar on Thursday.
This is the third Eknek meeting under the current government. The Prime Minister presided over the meeting. At this time 10 projects worth 5 thousand 563 crores were approved. At the press conference after the meeting, the Prime Minister’s instructions were given to the journalists by the Secretary of the Ministry of Planning, Satyajit Karmakar. Planning Minister Abdus Salam, State Minister Shahiduzzaman Sarkar and Planning Commission members were present at this time.
Satyajit Karmakar pointed out the instructions of the Prime Minister and said that the Prime Minister has ordered that the government companies that we have in the stock market should be included in the stock market. Directed the finance department to work on this.
In response to the question that what kind of government institutions will be listed in the capital market, the secretary said that he did not talk about listing all the institutions. He told the finance department to take effective initiatives regarding the appropriateness of the stock market. The finance secretary will scrutinize who can come, which institutions can be included, so that the finance department sends a proposal to the prime minister.
Satyajit Karmakar said that 10 projects worth Tk 5,563 crore have been approved today. Of this, the government funding is 5 thousand 203 crores, and the financing of development partners, especially KAICA, the World Bank and China, is 360 crores.
He said that the Prime Minister has instructed us to complete the projects that can be completed even with a small amount of money. Out of 339 finalizable projects, 5 projects cannot be installed by June. Due to this, except for 5 projects, remaining 334 projects will be completed by June 30.
He expressed his displeasure that his name was used in Khulna Medical University without informing the Prime Minister. The secretary said that the Prime Minister has approved the Sheikh Hasina Medical University in Khulna. He has two observations on this project. Firstly, the name Sheikh Hasina should be dropped, secondly, the mural in the project should be dropped. However, the ministers tried to convince the Prime Minister that to change the name, the law must be changed now. In this regard, Prime Minister Ushma has openly said that she will not allow her name to be used in the project in future. This is courtesy of the Prime Minister.
The planning secretary said that he has given another order that the bridges that are built on the river should be built according to the proper height. Bridges shall not be constructed at any place where the main flow of the river will be obstructed.
