B Mirror Report: Petrol pumps across the country may shut down at any time due to fuel shortages and security concerns, the Bangladesh Petrol Pump Owners Association has warned. The organization shared this concern in a statement issued on Sunday night.
According to the statement, the overall condition of petrol pumps nationwide is extremely poor, as the amount of fuel they receive daily from oil companies is insufficient to meet current customer demand.
Motorcycle riders and other customers are being forced to wait for hours to get fuel, leaving them exhausted, frustrated, and increasingly agitated. At the same time, pump workers, including nozzle operators, are struggling to handle the growing tension, often facing arguments and conflicts with dissatisfied customers.
The statement further noted that the workers are not accustomed to such continuous, demanding duty. Considering all these factors, the situation has become so critical that petrol pumps across the country could shut down at any moment due to lack of fuel supply and security risks.
