People returning to Dhaka after Eid holidays

BM Desk : People have begun coming back to the city on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr. But compared to the previous several days, a little more people are coming back today. because tomorrow, April 6, is the first day that all government offices will be open.

Such a photo was taken on Saturday, April 5, while seeing the capital’s Sadarghat, several bus terminals, and Kamalapur train station.

On the scene, it was observed that long-distance buses were arriving at Gabtoli bus terminal one after the other, and that people were disembarking from them. As the day goes on, it is anticipated that this gathering will grow even more.

Sayedabad and Jatrabari both have the same image. But there aren’t any complaints like that.

A passenger disembarked from the bus at the Sayedabad Janpath intersection alongside his family. He shared, “I traveled to the village with my parents to celebrate Eid with my relatives. I am employed in the accounting department of a private company, and my office resumes operations today. Initially, I planned to depart the day after tomorrow and arrive in Dhaka tomorrow. However, I later realized that this Eid journey would be a welcome break. Additionally, I have not encountered any issues so far. Therefore, I decided to leave last night and reached my destination early this morning. Alhamdulillah.”

Upon my visit to the Sadarghat launch terminal, I observed many individuals returning to Dhaka by launch after celebrating Eid with their families. The launch piers, which had been bustling with passengers since the morning, were still packed. Travelers reported that their Eid journeys were smooth and expressed no grievances regarding the fare.

Passengers disembarking from various trains at Kamalapur railway station mentioned that their Eid travel was quite comfortable, allowing them to avoid the usual rush when heading back to work.

At Daulatdia Ghat, there was also a noticeable influx of people returning to the capital, but no reports of any difficulties were noted.

It is worth mentioning that government officials and employees are enjoying a 9-day holiday in celebration of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr. Consequently, offices and courts are scheduled to reopen on April 6 following the break.
