Paramount Textile to revalue assets at market value

Paramount Textile PLC, a listed company in the textile sector, has appointed an independent valuer to assess the current fair market value of its fixed assets, including land and buildings.

The company disclosed the information on Thursday (October 1) through the websites of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE).

According to the disclosure, the company’s board of directors decided at a meeting held on September 30 to revalue its property, plant and equipment as of June 30, 2026.

For this purpose, Paramount Textile has appointed MABS & J Partners, Chartered Accountants, as its independent asset valuer.

The valuation will be conducted in accordance with International Valuation Standards, Bangladesh Accounting Standards, Bangladesh Financial Reporting Standards, and applicable laws and regulatory guidelines.

The revaluation may lead to changes in the company’s recorded asset values. If the fair market value of its assets exceeds their existing book value, the company may recognize a revaluation surplus, potentially affecting its net asset value.

However, the amount of any potential surplus and its impact on the company’s net asset value have not yet been determined.

The company said it would disclose the revaluation surplus and its impact on net asset value after receiving the independent valuer’s report and obtaining approval from the board of directors.
