Omar Faruk Khan and Mohammad Jamal Uddin Mazumder Joins as AMDs of Islami Bank

Omar Faruk Khan and Mohammad Jamal Uddin Mazumder joined as Additional Managing Directors (AMDs) of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC. Md. Omar Faruk Khan previously served as Managing Director (Current Charge) at NRB Bank Limited. He joined Islami Bank in 1986 after completing his master’s degree in Sociology from Dhaka University and successfully served at various important posts including Additional Managing Director of the bank for 37 years.

He is an Associate of the Institute of Bankers Bangladesh and a Certified Documentary Credit Specialist (CDCS) of the International Chamber of Commerce. Over the course of his career, he participated in various seminars and training programs on banking including credit management in Thailand, India, Malaysia, Switzerland and Dubai.

Mohammad Jamal Uddin Mazumder previously served as Deputy Managing Director at Pubali Bank before joining Islami Bank. He initially joined Islami Bank as a Senior Principal Officer in 2002 and successfully served in various important positions for 22 years. Mohammad Jamal Uddin Mazumder passed BSc Engineering from Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) in 1994. He has received training in Japan, Sri Lanka, Bahrain and India on various topics including the use of information technology in banking, anti-money laundering and BASEL-III.
