Oasis Accessories (Pvt.) Ltd., a company based in Bangladesh, is set to invest US$4.8 million to establish a factory for garment accessories in the BEPZA Economic Zone located in Mirsharai, Chattogram.
An agreement was signed between BEPZA and Oasis Accessories on Monday, September 8, at the BEPZA Complex in Dhaka.
The factory is expected to produce 1 million carton boxes, 42 million poly bags, and 1 million metres of foam each year, generating jobs for 311 Bangladeshi citizens.
To date, Oasis Accessories along with 47 other firms have entered into investment agreements with BEPZA EZ, raising the total proposed investment to US$1.03 billion.
The agreement was signed by Md Ashraful Kabir, Member (Investment Promotion) of BEPZA, and Md. Selim Reza, Managing Director of Oasis Accessories, in the presence of BEPZA Executive Chairman Major General Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman, BSP, ndc, psc. Senior officials from BEPZA and representatives from the company were also present at the signing ceremony.
