Notun Kuri sports prize ceremony held in Tangail

Tangail Correspondent: The prize and certificate distribution ceremony of the “Notun Kuri Sports” programme was held in Tangail on Saturday, marking the end of the preliminary phase of a nationwide talent hunt for skilled young athletes.

The event was organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports with support from the district administration at Tangail Stadium.

Tangail Deputy Commissioner Sharifa Haque attended the programme as the chief guest.

Speaking at the event, she said the essence of sports is not victory or defeat, but learning and personal development.

She said young participants have different talents in sports such as swimming, chess, cricket, football and athletics, expressing hope that they would grow into responsible citizens and successful individuals through sports and discipline.

The programme was chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Sanchay Kumar Mahasthir.

Among the special guests were Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) HM Mahbub Rezwan Siddiqui, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development and Human Resource Management) Md Selim Mia, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Shahin Mia, Tangail Press Club General Secretary and former District Sports Association General Secretary Kazi Zakirul Moula, former District BNP Member Secretary Mahmudul Haque Sanu and Sadar BNP President Azgar Ali.

District Sports Officer Md Rafiqul Islam assisted in organizing the event and distributing prizes and certificates among the participants.
