Panchagarh Correspondent: Aware, organized, and vocal people are the protectors of democracy.” With this slogan, the Panchagarh District Branch Committee of Citizens for Good Governance (Sujan) held a reorganization and planning meeting yesterday, Saturday, November 8, at 3:30 pm in the hall room of the party center in Panchagarh city.
The meeting was chaired by AKM Fazle Noor (Bachchu), President of Panchagarh District Sujan, while Rajesh De, Divisional Coordinator of Sujan, Rangpur, attended as the chief guest.
During the session, a new 27-member executive committee for the Panchagarh District Sujan was formed. AKM Fazle Noor (Bachchu) was re-elected as President, Tabirul Islam Manik as General Secretary, and Rafiqul Islam Bhutto retained his position as Organizing Secretary. The newly formed committee aims to strengthen the organization’s activities and ensure active citizen participation in governance.
The discussion meeting, jointly moderated by Rafiqul Islam Bhutto and journalist Dezar Hossain Badsha, featured open dialogue with prominent speakers including Zahirul Islam, Harun-or-Rashid, Abdul Hannan, Mosharraf Hossain, Ahnaf, CTI Director and journalist MA Based, journalist Snigdha Khandaker Niha, and lecturer Jahangir Alam Aftab Uddin.
Key topics included the upcoming parliamentary elections, disclosure of candidates’ asset details, organizing seminars on good governance, citizen dialogue programs, increasing public awareness to prevent corruption, promoting transparency in local government activities, and making the organization’s work more dynamic and impactful.
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment from committee members to uphold the principles of good governance and strengthen democratic practices in Panchagarh.
