NCC Bank organized the School Banking Conference 2023 at Narsingdi on Saturday as per the guidelines of the Financial Inclusions Department of Bangladesh Bank. About 250 students and 25 teachers from different schools have participated in the joint initiative of 47 scheduled banks in the Narsingdi district.
The Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank, Abul Bashar, inaugurated the conference as the chief guest. Mamdudur Rashid, Managing Director and CEO of NCC Bank, presided over the ceremony, while Mahbub Alam, Deputy Managing Director of NCC Bank, delivered a welcome speech. Besides, Mobarul Islam, District Education Officer of Narsingdi; Habibur Rahman, President of the Press Club; and Tanbir Ehsan, Deputy Director of Bangladesh Bank, were also present as special guests. Managers of different schedule banks, teachers, and guardians of different schools in Narsingdi District attended the conference.
Abul Bashar, Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank, said, “School banking activities are being conducted aiming to involve different levels of people in the financial sector.” He expressed hope that this conference will play a significant role in ensuring the economic independence of future generations by developing the habit of saving in student life. Finally, he thanked the NCC bank authorities for successfully conducting the conference as the lead bank.
Mamdudur Rashid, Managing Director and CEO of NCC Bank, said, “NCC Bank has organized the School Banking Conference 2023 at Narsingdi as a part of nationwide school banking activities with the pledge “Start the habit of saving at an early age”. NCC Bank conducted these activities from the beginning as per the instructions of Bangladesh Bank. He added that, at present, NCC Bank has 21,884 school banking accounts with deposits of Tk. 63 crore, which will play an important role in the economy of the country.
Mahbub Alam, Deputy Managing Director of NCC Bank, said, “The small savings of students at an early age is a rock-solid investment in a good future. So, everyone should participate in banking activities. He hopes that this school banking conference will go further.
