NCC Bank has awarded scholarships to 143 meritorious students from financially disadvantaged families across the country, covering schools, colleges, universities, engineering universities and medical colleges. The initiative is part of its CSR commitment to education and human resource development.
The NCC Bank Foundation organized the distribution ceremony at the bank’s head office. Managing Director M. Shamsul Arefin distributed the scholarships. Additional Managing Director Md. Zakir Anam, Deputy Managing Directors Mohammed Mizanur Rahman and Md. Habibur Rahman, EVP & Head of Sustainable & Women’s Banking Nighat Mumtaz, and SVP & Head of NCC Bank Foundation Khandaker Saiful Alam attended, along with recipients and guardians.
Arefin said education is a fundamental right, and students are tomorrow’s driving force for knowledge, innovation and economic growth. He said NCC Bank supports talented disadvantaged students so financial constraints do not hinder their education. Congratulating the recipients, he called the scholarship a recognition of their merit and hard work, urging them to study diligently, develop skills, and become honest, capable and responsible citizens who contribute to a prosperous Bangladesh.
Zakir Anam said NCC Bank has contributed to national development since its inception and provides scholarships yearly to meritorious, financially disadvantaged students. Its CSR work also includes disaster relief, warm clothes for the poor, agricultural inputs for marginal farmers, free eye care, tree saplings for students, and aid for persons with disabilities. He added that the scholarship programme is not an expense but an investment in Bangladesh’s future human resources.
