B Mirror Report: The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has called for budget proposals from taxpayers, business chambers and other stakeholders for the 2026-27 fiscal year, aiming to frame a participatory, pro-people and business-friendly national budget.
In a press release issued today, the revenue authority said it is formulating revenue policies as part of the government’s overall budget preparation process. As in previous years, the NBR has been engaging with taxpayers, industrial and business associations, trade bodies, professional organisations, research institutions and members of the intelligentsia to gather opinions and recommendations.
To make the revenue collection programme for FY2026-27 more effective, analytical and inclusive, the NBR expressed its interest in holding consultations with stakeholders and incorporating their views into the budget process.
The board has requested various chambers and trade associations to submit their written budget proposals to the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) by 15 March 2026.
Stakeholders have also been asked to send a soft copy of their proposals in NikoshBAN format to the NBR via email at nbrbudget2026@gmail.com.
The revenue authority assured that all proposals received would be given due consideration.
Organisations, institutions or offices that are not affiliated with any chamber or association may also send their budget recommendations directly to the NBR using the same email address.
The NBR expressed optimism that with cooperation from all stakeholders, it would be possible to formulate a participatory, industry- and taxpayer-friendly budget with strong revenue potential for the 2026-27 fiscal year.
