B Mirror Report: Md. Nazrul Islam has been promoted to the position of Director at Bangladesh Bank advancing from his previous role as Additional Director.

Prior to his promotion, Nazrul Islam had been serving as the Program Director of the Entrepreneurship Development Program under the Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation” initiative since October 2021. The program, operated by the Skills Development Coordination and Monitoring Unit under the Ministry of Finance, plays a significant role in fostering entrepreneurship and enhancing workforce skills across the country.

Throughout his career at the central bank, he has held key responsibilities in several important departments, including the Credit Guarantee Department, Financial Institutions Inspection Department, and the Banking Regulations and Policy Department.

Nazrul Islam completed both his undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the University of Dhaka. He later earned a Professional Master’s degree in Banking and Finance from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in Thailand. In addition, he holds a Certified Risk Management Expert (CERM) qualification from Germany. He hails from Shailkupa upazila in Jhenaidah district.
