Noakhali Correspondent: National Livestock Week 2025 has begun in Noakhali with colorful programs aimed at expanding modern technology, ensuring safe food production, and promoting women and youth entrepreneurship.
On Wednesday (26 November) morning, a rally, discussion meeting, and exhibition were held under the slogan “Local Breeds, Modern Technology: Advancing Livestock Development.” The rally started from in front of Sonapur Nursing Bird School and ended at the same venue with a discussion session. Guests inaugurated the week by releasing colorful balloons. The program was jointly organized by the district administration and the Department of Livestock Services.
Throughout the week, various activities will take place, including livestock mobile court awareness drives, artificial insemination services, free veterinary medical camps, school feeding programs, awareness sessions in educational institutions, art and quiz competitions, and a closing-day discussion titled “Thoughts of Youth, Women Entrepreneurs, and Stakeholders on Sustainable Livestock Development.”
Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Shafikul Islam attended as the chief guest. The event was presided over by Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Homayra Islam, with Police Superintendent (SP) Md. Abdullah-Al-Faruk as the special guest. Sadar Upazila Livestock Officer Dr. Taslima Ferdousi delivered the welcome speech. Government officials, farmers, and entrepreneurs were also present.
Speakers highlighted the crucial role of the livestock sector in Bangladesh’s socio-economic development, stating that National Livestock Week will help expand modern technology, ensure safe food production, promote entrepreneurship, and strengthen government–private sector coordination. They also praised the significant role of the media in raising awareness about livestock development.
After the discussion, guests visited 31 exhibition stalls at the Livestock Office and Veterinary Hospital, and later awarded successful entrepreneurs and farmers.
