Mrinal Tangail Correspondent : The DB Police team and Tangail Sadar Police Station began operations under the direct supervision of Md. Mizanur Rahman, Tangail District Superintendent of Police. Based on information obtained from reliable intelligence and information technology, the aforementioned teams carried out a raid and solved the incident’s riddle on May 25, 2025. They conducted raids at multiple places in Tangail and Sirajganj districts and arrested the accused 1. Md. Sabbir Hossain (34), father: Md. Sanwar Hossain, 2. Md. Sihab Sarkar (27), father: Abdul Hamid Sarkar, 3. Md. Jahangir Alam (37), father: deceased: Iman Ali Sheikh, Sarb Sang- Rahimpur, Thana- Sirajganj Sadar, District- Sirajganj and recovered a total of 19 mobile phones, passenger’s workplace ID card and 1 bag looted during the robbery.
The raid is continuing to arrest other accused involved in the robbery. The arrested accused are active members of an inter-district gang of robbers and have been committing robberies in an organized manner at different times. There are multiple cases against them in different police stations. It is worth mentioning that on May 20, 2025, at 7:35 pm, the Dhaka Metro-B-13-1033 Al-Imran Paribahan bus bound for Rangpur from Abdullahpur in Dhaka left for Rangpur district. Passengers boarded the bus from different places along the way. 8/9 robbers boarded the bus in the guise of passengers. In that incident, case No. 31, dated 21/05/2025, section- 10 of the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act, 2000 (S-25) and 395/397 of the Penal Code 1860 was registered at Tangail Sadar Police Station.
