Mutual Trust Bank PLC (MTB) has transferred 30.63 lakh shares held in the name of its late sponsor Syed Manzur Elahi equally to his son Syed Nasim Manzur and daughter Munize Manzur.
The bank disclosed the information to the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) on Sunday (September 20).
According to the disclosure, of the remaining 37,74,394 shares held in the name of the deceased sponsor, 30,63,632 shares have been transferred to the accounts of his two nominees.
Each of the two heirs received 15,31,816 shares, representing 50% of the transferred shares.
Syed Nasim Manzur is a director of Mutual Trust Bank, while Munize Manzur is a sponsor of the bank. The bank said the shares were transferred to the respective accounts of the two nominees in accordance with the prescribed rules and procedures.
Earlier, 11,50,495 shares held by Syed Manzur Elahi in listed company Apex Footwear Limited were also transferred to his two children. He was a sponsor and founding chairman of Apex Footwear.
