Mr. Mohd. Humayun Kabir Joined as Managing Director and CEO of Union Bank  

Mr. Mohd. Humayun Kabir, a veteran banker with more than 37 years of experience, former Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank has joined Sharia-based Union Bank PLC. as the Managing Director and CEO. Prior to joining Union Bank, Mr. Kabir served as Deputy Managing Director, Head of Human Resource Division and CAMLCO of NRBC Bank PLC. In his 37 years long career, he has served with great efficiency as the Secretary to the Board of the Directors of the Bangladesh Bank, Banking Regulation and Policy Department, Foreign Exchange Policy Department, Foreign Exchange Investment Department, Human Resource Department, Agriculture Credit Department, Banking Inspection Department, Bangladesh Bank Training Academy, Head of Bangladesh Bank Chittagong Office. He also served in Motijheel, Barisal and Khulna offices of Bangladesh Bank. Besides, Mr. Kabir was supervisory observer to the Board of Directors of Janata, Rupali and ICB Islami Bank  and proxy attendant on several times as observer  to the Board of  Directors of Sonali, Agrani, Islami, NBL, Commerce, BASIC and NCC Bank. He also served as a Faculty Member of Bangladesh Institute of Bank Management.

Mr. Kabir obtained his Hon’s and Masters Degree in Accounting from University of Dhaka. He also received training on various aspects of banking at home and abroad. Mr. Kabir travelled to enhance his professional skills to Canada, Russia, England, Saudi Arabia, Turkmenistan, Italy, Turkey, Hong Kong, UAE, Malaysia and Sri Lanka.
