BM Desk : In Bangladesh, around 91.36 lakh animals were sacrificed during Eid-ul-Azha this year, according to statistics from the ministry of fisheries and livestock. Of the total, 44.3 lakh were goats and sheep, while 47.5 lakh were cows and buffaloes. The rest consisted of other creatures. The ministry also said in a news release that around 33.10 lakh animals went unsold this year due to the higher output of sacrifice animals.
Beyond Eid, it is anticipated that these unsold animals will be utilized in a number of religious rites and celebrations. With 23.24 lakh animals sacrificed, Rajshahi division had the most, followed by Dhaka with 21.85 lakh.17.53 lakh animals were sacrificed in Chittagong. There were 9.64 lakh in the Rangpur division and 8.04 lakh in Khulna.4.7 lakh animals were sacrificed, according to the Barisal division.
With 3.83 lakh and 3.19 lakh, respectively, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions had the lowest numbers.
