Mobile Court Raids Noakhali General Hospital, Sentences 7 Brokers to Jail

Noakhali Correspondent: A mobile court, in collaboration with RAB (Rapid Action Battalion), conducted a raid at the 250-bed Noakhali General Hospital, arresting seven brokers involved in exploiting patients. The court later sentenced them to various terms of imprisonment.

The raid took place on Sunday, August 21, from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM, led by Mithun Kumar Kundu, Company Commander of RAB-11, CPC-3.

The arrested individuals are:

  • Milon (35)
  • Ratan (38)
  • Harun (35)
  • Sajib (25)
  • Swapan (44)
  • Masud (45)
  • Akram Hossain (25)

According to RAB sources, the operation was launched in response to long-standing complaints that brokers were preying on patients at the hospital, often stripping them of money and proper care. Following the arrests, a mobile court sentenced the individuals based on the evidence found.

Executive Magistrate Mehrab Hossain, who presided over the mobile court, stated, “The issue of brokers hindering patient services at the hospital has been ongoing. Today’s sentences were based on solid proof of their involvement.”

RAB Commander Mithun Kumar Kundu affirmed that similar operations will continue in the future to protect patient rights and ensure proper healthcare services.
