Meghna Bank signed an agreement with Bangladesh Bank

Meghna Bank has signed with Bangladesh Bank on Working Capital Refinance worth BDT 5,000 Crore for CMSME

Recently, A participation agreement has been signed between Bangladesh Bank and Meghna Bank PLC to facilitate financing at a concessional interest rate and on simplified terms under the BDT 5,000 crore CMSME Working Capital Refinance Fund. On behalf of their respective organizations, Md. Zabdul Islam, Director, SME & Special Programs Department, Bangladesh Bank, & Mohammad Sohel Miah, Head of SME Banking, and Md. Shaidur Rahman, Head of Micro & Small Business, Meghna Bank PLC, signed the agreement.

Md. Anis Ur Rahman, Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank, attended the ceremony as the Chief Guest. Nahid Rahman, Executive Director & Shahanaj Pervin, Additional Director, Bangladesh Bank, were also present. The fund has been established under the BDT 60,000 crore stimulus package announced by Bangladesh Bank to ensure adequate working capital financing for the CMSME sector, strengthen the productive capacity of viable enterprises, and accelerate economic activity through increased production, business operations, and employment generation.

Under the scheme, viable CMSME enterprises facing working capital constraints will be eligible for financing at a interest rate of 9%, enabling them to operate their production, service, and business activities at optimum capacity.
