As part of the government’s initiative to merge five banks, Md. Maksuduzzaman, Director of Bangladesh Bank, officially assumed the role of Administrator of Global Islami Bank PLC on Wednesday, November 5, 2025.
Maksuduzzaman holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Finance from the University of Dhaka. He also obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resources from the Bangladesh Institute of Management (BIM).
He began his career at Bangladesh Bank in 1999 as an Assistant Director and has since served in various important capacities within the central bank.
