Despite an increase in the key index, trading volume dropped on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) on Wednesday (October 22), the fourth trading day of the week. Most company shares and mutual fund units saw price declines, along with a decrease in overall transaction value.
According to DSE data, the benchmark index DSEX rose by 5.36 points, closing at 5,094.
The DSES index edged up by 0.57 points to 1,077, while the DS30 index gained 5.29 points, reaching 1,974.
Total turnover stood at Tk 355.04 crore, down from Tk 478.01 crore in the previous session.
On the day, 397 companies had their shares and units traded. Among them, 145 advanced, 178 declined, and 74 remained unchanged.
