All the indices on Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the main capital market of the country, were trading with decline. Along with that, the amount of transactions in Taka has decreased. However, the market capitalization on DSE increased by more than 2 thousand crore Taka within a week.
According to sources, the market capitalization on DSE before the start of trading on the first working day of the outgoing week was Tk 6 lakh 72 thousand 115 crore 57 lakh 10 thousand. And after trading on the last working day of the week, the market capital stood at 6 lakh 74 thousand 416 crore 57 lakh 50 thousand taka. That is, the market capital has increased by 2 thousand 301 crore 40 thousand taka or 0.34 percent during the week.
All indices of DSE also fell compared to last week. This week the main price index DSEX decreased by 40.52 points or 0.74 percent. Besides, DSE-30 index decreased by 5.86 points or 0.29 percent. And DSES index decreased by 15.4 points or 1.26 percent.
Trading volume on DSE fell with index fall. During the week, the total transaction in DSE was 1 thousand 466 crore 72 lakh 70 thousand taka. And in the previous week 2 thousand 131 crores 9 lakh 30 thousand were traded. That is, the transaction in DSE has decreased by 664 crore 36 lakh 60 thousand Taka in the span of a week.
Shares of 395 companies and mutual fund units were traded on DSE during the week. Among them, the share prices of 211 companies increased, 38 companies decreased and 146 companies remained unchanged.
