Market capitalization has increased in the past week

Last week (February 9-13) there was an increase in the price index in both the stock markets of the country. However, the volume of transactions decreased. Investors’ portfolio or investment has increased by 15 thousand 809 crores. In that week, transactions decreased by 1 percent.

It is known that at the beginning of last week, the market capitalization on the DSE was 6,73,930 crore taka. And at the end of the last working day of the week, the market capitalization stood at 6,89,739 crore taka. That is, the investors’ portfolio increased by 15,809 crore taka or 1 percent in the past week.

In the past week, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) saw a transaction of 2,107.24 crore taka. In the previous week, the transaction was 2,132.97 crore taka. That is, the transaction on the DSE decreased by 257.44 crore taka or 1 percent in the past week.

In the past week, the main index of the DSE, DSEX, increased by 22 points or 0.43 percent to 5,201 points. Among other indices, the Shariah Index increased by 8 points or 0.69 percent to 1,156 points.

A total of 398 shares and units of companies were traded on the DSE in the past week. Among the companies, the prices increased by 183 or 45.97 percent, decreased by 166 or 41.70 percent and remained unchanged by 49 or 12.31 percent.

In the other stock market, the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), a total of 291.8 million taka was traded in the past week. The overall index of the CSE, CASPI, increased by 17 points or 0.12 percent to 14,529 points during the week.

Shares and units of 306 companies were traded on the CSE throughout the week. Among the companies, the prices of 144 increased, the prices of 131 decreased and the prices of 31 remained unchanged.
