Mahbub Ul Alam returns to ICMAB as Executive Director

The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) welcomes back Md. Mahbub Ul Alam FCMA as its new Executive Director, effective from Monday. This marks Mr. Alam’s second tenure with ICMAB.

Mr. Alam brings extensive experience to the role, having previously served ICMAB and boasting over 24 years in various leadership positions at KAFCO (Karnaphuli Fertilizer Company Limited). He also held senior management roles at CUFL under BCIC for eight years before joining KAFCO.

A highly accomplished academic, Mr. Alam graduated with First Class honors in both his Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) and Master of Commerce degrees in Accounting from Dhaka University. He further distinguished himself by qualifying as a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) from ICMAB Dhaka in late 1984.

Mr. Alam’s global exposure is noteworthy, with visits to numerous countries for business meetings, training programs, and conferences. These include China, Japan, Egypt, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Italy, Romania, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.

ICMAB undoubtedly benefits from Mr. Alam’s proven leadership, extensive experience, and academic credentials. His return promises to propel the institute forward.
