M Nurul Alam FCS launches governance book

The unveiling ceremony of the book “Governance, Internal Audit and Compliance”, authored by M Nurul Alam FCS, Independent Director of The Premier Bank PLC and Chairman of Premier Bank Securities limited, was held on Wednesday at the Learning and Talent Development Centre of the Bank’s Head Office in Banani, Dhaka.

At the event, the book was formally unveiled by Dr. Arifur Rahman, Chairman of The Premier Bank PLC, as the chief guest. Also present were Managing Director Md. Monzur Mofiz, Deputy Managing Director Niamat Uddin Ahmed, Deputy Managing Director S M Wali Ul Morshed, Deputy Managing Director Amalendu Roy, Deputy Managing Director Mohammad Al-Amin, along with heads of various divisions and other officials of the Bank.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman Dr. Arifur Rahman highlighted the importance of governance, internal audit and compliance in ensuring good governance, transparency and accountability in today’s environment. He expressed his belief that the book would serve as a valuable reference for professionals, students, and researchers in the banking and corporate sectors.

Managing Director Md. Monzur Mofiz said, “The author has incorporated his extensive professional experience, knowledge and observations into this book, which will help readers gain a deeper understanding of the subject and apply it effectively in practical situations.”

Sharing his experience behind writing the book, M Nurul Alam FCS said, “The inspiration for writing this book came from my long professional experience in the fields of corporate governance, internal audit, and compliance.”

He further mentioned that he had presented a complimentary copy of the book to Finance Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, who extended his congratulations and best wishes on its publication.
