BM Desk : In order to safeguard the weaving industry and generate job opportunities, a weaving machine along with a training program for prisoners has been initiated at the Tangail District Jail. The official inauguration took place on Saturday afternoon. Farida Akhtar, Advisor to the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, officiated the training launch.
Among those present were Tangail Deputy Commissioner Sharifa Haque, Superintendent of Police Md. Mizanur Rahman, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md. Abdullah Al Mamun, Additional District Magistrate Md. Mahbub Hasan, Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Md. Al-Amin Kabir,
Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Md. Mohaiminul Islam, Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate T.M.A. Mukit, Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Labibuzzaman Mustabeen, Jail Superintendent Md. Shahidul Islam, Jailer Mohammad Habibur Rahman,
Probation Officer Md. Sourav Talukder, among others. The inaugural training session saw the participation of ten trainees, with plans to gradually increase this number. The setup of looms and the loom training program were made possible through funding from the Probation Office, with implementation by the Tangail District Administration and District Jail.
